A group of ex-hippies reunite. They go to the old house they used to live together in which is due to be demolished. But there’s a more sinister reason why they go back- one of their housemates killed himself and rather than going to the hippie-hating cops, they bury him in the basement. They’re going to move his remains before others discover them.
There are revelations, wounds that still fester and rear their ugly heads and HUGE plot twists.
The acting is top-notch, the plot fantastic and there’s a brilliant fine line between the dark elements of the proceedings and a comedy element that arises from what happened in the past and what they’ve come together again to carry out.
There are also some gorgeous Sydney locales that reminded me of my time in this great city (my heart smiled on seeing the Coca-Cola sign from Kings Cross. There was also footage of a prostitute approaching a potential punter).
This TV movie would make a great stage play.
