A wealthy man invites nine friends to an abandoned theatre he owns but doesn’t use. They quickly discover they are locked in and that a killer is picking them off one by one.

This giallo movie feels like part Agatha Christie (particularly And Then There Were None) and a proto-slasher movie. It also features a lot of nudity and *shock horror* lesbianism.
There’s a lot to cherish with this film such as the setting, the sleazy 70’s proto porno soundtrack and some of the fashion and hair choices (I love a man in a polo neck and medallion. It’s very Sardu from Bloodsucking Freaks).

The kills are also innovative. One character is stabbed repeatedly in the crotch and then a nail is hammered into her hand which isn’t very genteel behaviour for the theatre. There’s also a paranormal element to proceedings, with things that are about to happen being depicted in a painting.
But there are moments that drag and feel underdeveloped. It also feels very incoherent as a whole.

But it’s still worth investigating.
