A flute-playing serial killer is inexplicably psychically linked with a disabled young girl after a blood transfusion (!)

As you can tell from the plot outline, this film is batshit bonkers but I quite like that. I prefer the crazy shit that thinks outside the box rather than dishing up lukewarm generic rubbish.

Something else that’s inspired about Blood Song is that none other than Frankie Avallone is cast as the killer. And it works! Mr Nice plays nasty very well indeed. Maybe the contrast helped.

Donna Wilkes from Jaws 2 also stars.

A solid hour and a half’s entertainment that is refreshingly left-field.
