Druids invade a small town, looking for a rare blood type to resurrect their leader.

Invasion of the Blood Farmers is a freaky, almost psychedelic early 70’s film that has the garish colour palates of the clothing of the era.
I loved the depiction of something out of the ordinary infiltrating the humdrum life of a very ordinary small town in America. In fact, I even got Night of the Living Dead vibes. But before you start thinking that this may be some kind of long list masterpiece, it isn’t!

But, that being said, Invasion is still a solid piece of entertainment. True, some of the acting is very, erm, natural (the uncharitable might say wooden), but this is an early 70’s low-budget horror movie aimed at the Drive-In audience.
There are strong Blood Feast vibes also with the gore scenes using redder than red blood (paint!)

There’s something aesthetically pleasing about these visuals and some shots are framed beautifully. It doesn’t drag either and held my attention.
And with a title as bizarre as this, I was bound to investigate further.
