What A Carry On!- Day 27- Carry On Behind (1975)

Major Leep has purchased a campsite and on digging a new cesspit, discovers what he thinks are Roman remains. Cue Professor Crump and an expert on all things Roman, Professor Vrooshka. There is also a varied, colourful and entertaining array of campers on site.

Even though we don’t get the writing of Talbot Rothwell or the talents of Sid James, Hattie Jacques or Barbara Windsor, Carry on Behind is still loads of fun. The remaining members of the regular cast are in fine form, especially Kenneth Williams who comes into his own here. His performance is nothing short of fantastic.

We are also granted the talents of Windsor Davis, Elke Sommer and future Loose Woman Sherrie Hewson, all of whom throw themselves into their roles with gusto.

It might not the masterpiece that is Carry On Camping, but Behind shows that theres still more than enough life in the Carry On series yet.
