Amityville Reviewed- Day 11- The Amityville Asylum (2013)

A young woman starts a job as a night-shift custodian at the High Hopes Psychiatric Hospital. The ward she is to look after houses murderers, sadists and cannibals. But it’s the seemingly supernatural activities that alarm her the most and cause her to look into the history of the hospital.

It’s a cool premise but, unfortunately, it’s terrible. In a word- BORING.

Also, I thought there was something wrong with the sound of the copy I watched (dialogue that’s too quiet is then drowned out by music that’s way too loud). But, apparently, this is the sound mix on the film itself. Oh dear.

One of the inmates is a cult member call Sadie Krenwinkle. Which reminded me that I could be watching Helter Skelter instead.

Avoid.
