Universal Classic Monsters Reviewed- Day 26- House of Frankenstein (1944)

Dr. Gustav Niemann escapes prison and revives Dracula, the Wolf Man, and Frankenstein’s Monster, seeking revenge while unleashing chaos.

House of Frankenstein is a thoroughly enjoyable Universal monster movie.

I also love the fact that all of the heavy hitters are together in one movie. It’s value for money and actually works. It reminds me of the 60’s Batman movie which featured all of the villains together.

Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr., and Boris Karloff all shine and are given great material to sink their teeth into.

This was supposedly conceived to put bums in seats as the Universal Classic Monsters entries were beginning to wane at the box office. It worked as this reaped the rewards with handsome returns. And deservedly so.
