‘A young woman, admitted to a psychiatric hospital for burning down a farmhouse, is attacked by a mysterious entity. When other patients start to disappear, she believes that she is haunted by a ghost.’

Brilliantly directed, photographed and with framing that reminded me of Halloween.
But, alas, this isn’t Halloween. Whilst The Ward looks and feels great, the material just isn’t all that. Too many genre cliches, too much that doesn’t make sense (explained poorly at the films conclusion) and not much suspense generated.

But hey, it looks good!
Of course, The Ward is interesting on another level as Amber Heard plays the lead. I kept thinking of poor Johnny Depp and what he found on his pillow. Now that’s real horror.
