This Jack Hill directed sexploitation/horror film concerns Howard Thorne, the head of a company that produces and distributes pornographic stills, books and records. He is also a serial rapist and we see him stalking, chasing and attacking his victims.

Mondo Keyhole feels like an amazing time capsule as to 60’s alternative culture (as suggested by the title) as we see the sleazy, sordid and criminal America that was so far from the Hollywood version that was being depicted in more mainstream films.

We get to see drugs, wild swingers parties and domintrixes in glorious monochrome. The actual crimes are depicted for what they are- violent and vile.

This is an amazing trip into counterculture America. I hope Hill’s films and others of this ilk are restored and released on Blu-Ray. They serve as an alternative document of a time that was both genuinely edgy and so often overlooked.
